This anonymized example summarizes a bottle-development discussion with a spirits brand. The customer identity, market, brand and commercial details are omitted.
Project Overview
The team selected a 700 ml bottle shape they liked, then noticed the liquid level sat lower than the target mark. The discussion focused on measuring the actual fill volume at the intended line and checking the bottle’s internal dimensions before revising the drawing and next sample.
When a higher fill line requires additional liquid capacity, changing glass weight alone does not solve the volume difference. The bottle’s shape, capacity and fill point must be reviewed together. This page describes a design review; it does not claim a completed order or repeat purchase.
What to Confirm Before Revising a Bottle
Before changing the design, confirm:
- nominal capacity and target fill point;
- measured liquid volume at the fill mark and required headspace;
- bottle height, shoulder and body geometry, and target weight;
- neck finish, closure, label area and filling-line requirements;
- the drawing revision, sample criteria and approval path.
Agreeing these details before sampling helps prevent a visual adjustment from creating a capacity or line-compatibility issue.
